I just can't get enough of this place... I just wish they would open in NJ!!!... They would put Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts right out of business!

This is just what a neighborhood donut spot should be. Overflowing with delicious donut choices, a friendly, helpful staff, and easy to find. I took some home to Indianapolis and they went over quite well. Especially enjoyed the apple fritters!

Cant believe I past this place so many times without stopping in. Very fluffy yeast raised donuts. I ordered half a dozen variety and they all tasted good. Much better than DD. Only wish they'd open later.

Soft, fluffy, fresh and goooooooood. The donuts are sweet but not excessively sweet like some places. They have pretty common flavors but also some unique ones like banana frosted, oreo frosted, cherry, pumpkin spice (in jan), red velvet, boston cream with chocolate frosted toasted coconut etc. I must also say the apple fritters are huuuge. The workers there are very nice and have good relationships with their returning customers. We had the chocolate peanut cake donut, the angel cream donut, cherry cake donut, banana frosted donut and oreo frosted donut. One time I got a chocolate peanut cake donut that was still slightly warm!!! Yummmmm Too bad they close at 5pm :( P.s. if you want special order donuts, its like $17 for a dozen.

I'm not a donut connoisseur, but I do like Fray's donuts. They're locally owned and a no frills type of shop. Are they as new and modern as DD? No, but the quality is there. My faves are the sour cream and chocolate cake.

If you are in need of a donut fix, Fray's is the place to be if you are in Pinellas county. Their donuts are always fresh, fluffy and delicious. I am not typically one to order regular glazed donuts (I like the eccentric, filled, weird flavored donuts). However, I ordered a honey glazed from here the last time I visited. It was my 2nd all time favorite donut (the first of which is in Tampa and includes bacon, so it really isn't a fair comparison). I also enjoy their french crullers and sour cream a lot. Honestly, I have yet to have a donut of theirs that I didn't like and prefer over Dunkin Donuts. **Tip: Always look for the donut of the day sign. I tried the pumpkin donut that they had featured and it was AMAZING. My favorite pumpkin donut to date.

excellent variety and donuts and sandwiches. they coffee beverages are made to order. customer service is reasonable. the only thing is that the place should be bigger to fit more people on the inside. But definitely like the drive-thru window. definitely a cozy breakfast spot and great for locals.

I love this donut shop. They have absolutely the best apple fritters I have ever tasted. I get their coffee every time I am in the area. Great coffee.

I think this place has the best donuts in town. I don't come here often anymore, but when I do I always enjoy the large twist or the cinammon roll, which I feel like having.

I can't say I love all of the doughnuts at Fray's but I put their honey dipped up against any glazed doughnut in the Tampa Bay Area. Their dough is for me, perfect. I grew up with Krispy Kreme and it used to be the doughnut I gauged all others by, I was so naive! Krispy Kreme is too soft and too sweet, the last time I had a glazed one, the glaze was GRAINY. Back to Fray's dough, it has some body to it, and the glaze is perfect, smooth, not too much and not too little. My other favorite is the yeast raised white iced with toasted coconut, just a delicious doughnut. The only negatives for me are we've gotten cake doughnuts that didn't seem like they were fresh and they've run out of the honey dipped.

Mmmm...sugary sweet goodness. Came here on a whim on a Saturday morning. It's on the corner of 49th St and Park Blvd. There were only a couple of people inside when I arrived, but then out of nowhere a steady line of people started streaming in. The diner is kinda small inside and people were crammed at the front by the entrance. I ordered a bacon/egg/cheese on a bagel, a sausage/egg/and cheese on a croissant, a biscuit and gravy, and half a dozen assorted donuts to go. I felt a bit rushed in ordering- I hate when people are waiting behind me- so I completely forgot about the apple fritters! I will have to try that next time. Service was good...I guess. Kinda slow, there were 3 people working behind the counter and it seemed to me that one of them was running around doing everything and moving a lot faster than the other two. The lady that took my order seemed kinda...blunt. My first time here, sorry I had questions and don't know the menu. But the lady at the register was friendly enough. They also have a drive through. The sandwiches were ok. Nothing memorable about them. The biscuit and gravy was ok too. But the donuts. Ah, the donuts! Those were the best damn donuts I've ever had. The honey dipped, hands down beats any glazed donut I've ever tasted. Chocolate glazed are normally my favorite also, and the ones here are delicious. The texture of the donuts- so light, fluffy and chewy. Just melts in your mouth. Got a few filled donuts also and wow. The fruit fillings were yummy. I'm never going back to Dunkin' or Krispy Kreme ever again.

OMG these donuts are so huge!! They are made fresh daily!! You can't go wrong with any donut at this joint--my personal favorite is a glazed chocolate donut!! Don't forget to get milk!!

Fresh, soft, not too sugary donuts. Like another yelper mentioned, no special flavors, but everything is really good (even the prices). Note: If you're staying on the beach, it's going to be a about a 25 minute drive.

I did a grab-n-go of half a dozen. I was expecting a wide and outrageous array of donuts when walking in, but instead was met with the same kind of Dunkin' Donuts setup. It took me some time to decide what I wanted because I couldn't find many uncommon flavors. I wanted something new! I did like the coconut creme pie donut. That's the kind of unique I'm talking about. The others weren't bad, but since they didn't taste any different to me, I wouldn't go all the way to Fray's for them when I can grab the regulars at my corner DD.

I am in love with this place! My husband is from Saint Pete so every time we travel up there to visit his family I ensure that this is our final stop before heading home. Great breakfast sandwiches and apple fritters for a great price! Staff is always friendly!

The BEST Honey glazed donuts I have ever had!!! It is so soft and airly light...I definitely can have a dozen of this! All the other donuts are also fluffy and moist. And they are actually not too sweet at all...very light. I love it! And on top of that, it is 24 hr so it is very convinient if you get late night sweet tooth munches, like I always do!

the donuts here are nothing special. they taste just like any old dunkin donuts. the danishes are not good, either. the dough is too heavy and the cheese and fruit toppings are not fresh or flavorful. i've actually gotten much better danishes at the Publix bakery. they set a minumum for debit card purchases, which is against the terms with Visa to do so. i stood there and tried to get them to take the debit for the $3.84 of stuff i had but they forced me to buy another item. will not be returning.

One word, Bear claw! The bear claws and cinnamon buns are as big as a large plate! They are huge and delicious. I don't really know a whole lot about coffee, but it is a good price so I usually order that a well. There is no better feeling than stopping in for a 4AM snack while splitting the graveyard shift. The waitress is very nice, extremely attentive and fast. I love fast. I have a spectacular experience every time I got to Fray's. It's really funny because I used to call this place Frans, (I always got the name mixed up) and it became an inside joke to my coworkers and I. Hey guys, I'm going to Frans, anyone want some Bear Claws and Coffee? Yea! Get some! Normally people go out of their way to write a review on a place that sucks, Fray's is the kind of place that will make you want to go out of your way to write a review in hopes of sharing a great experience with your community.

Some donuts are better than others, but trust me, you can't go wrong with any donuts at Fray's. The variety is huge and I keep going back. Definitely worth a try!

Awesome glazed and toasted coconut doughnuts. Probably the best I've ever had. If you like bagels that have a more bread-like and not chewy texture that's how they are here. Don't get a bagel buttered by them though or they'll soak it with an oily butter like substance (not as good as real butter)

Amazing donuts! We tried the honey glaze and the apple fritter and both were much better than national brands! We are from out of state and tried this place based on Yelp reviews, and are so glad we did!

I used to pickup Donuts twice a week here for customers, but they kept raising the price. Great service! Great product

I will ignore busy traffic corners and run-down-looking buildings for few things... "donuts" and "open 24 hours" and maybe grandmas crossing the road. Take a glance at the diner-style design. Although I haven't run into them, you can tell this is the kind of place that has a zombie following. Although they can be a bit slow to help you out, the staff has been very friendly... but who made the dumb decision of putting the drive-thru window at the register? Focus on me me me. The cappuccino is ehhh (no flavor, a bit watery, and overpriced), but the donuts are FRESH! When warm, biting the dough feels like biting cotton candy-- fluffy and melts. I recommend any of the unusual donuts: coconut or oreos. After your eyes adjust to the wall of donuts, glance at the pastries beneath the glass. Those cinnamon buns are as big as NBA players' hats! Next time, you're mine! And I've been seeing "BOGO free Fray's donuts" signs at gas stations? Catch me, I will be an addict.

I can't find a better donut anywhere else. When freshly baked, the Boston creme donut is soft on three inside with a little crisp on the outside. Dunkin donuts and krispie kreme don't hold a candle to this place!!!

  • Robert P.

Yea you'll probably never catch me at dunkin again. Fray's is just as good if not better, and the donuts are about 25% bigger. 2 of those bad boys and your set. Had myself the boston creme (all time favorite) and the Oreo chocolate Glazed. Boston Creme was on the money, in all aspects. Soft, chewy, creme tasted good, i was digging it. Oreo was solid, probably not my favorite flavor, put thats probably more personal opinion then anything else. Ill def be back, not too often though or im gonna need a wheelchair

Soft, moist, delicious and flavorful. My two favorites are the toasted coconut glazed and the chocolate. Once you've tried Fray's, you'll never go to those chain doughnut establishments again.

Yea, I'm definetely a fan of Fray's now. I stopped in just for a cup of coffee on a windy Tuesday and was amazed at the wonderful aroma of fresh baked donuts. It is a bit iffy at first because it looks like a little dive cafe from the outside, but once in, the cleanliness and array of fresh donuts to choose from iss widely appreciated by this consumer!

Three O'clock in the morning and need a doughnut fix? I've been there and here is the answer to that craving, Fray's. They've been opening 24/7 locations all over Pinellas making it easier to get some sugar anytime, anywhere. The original location on 66th St has a window into the kitchen to watch the bakers create the masterpieces. They move so fast with such precision that it is memorizing to watch and keeps me quiet and patient in line before getting my mouth around one. The counter clerks are as equally patient as I hem and haw over which flavors I can fit in one box. They have some original recipes like the honey dip and molasses topped with nuts. I'm kinda traditional so the Boston Cream is my go-to. If you need something a little more substantial in the AM to get you through to lunch, I recommend the ham, egg and cheese croissant. Really tasty and really affordable compared to some other quick stop breakfast shops. Order that, plus a dozen doughnuts, it is okay, I won't tell.
